Dinarian note: Welcome to July... I made this one from scratch to try and help some of you with making educated decisions when staking within the Cosmos ecosystem.... Using Persistence chain as an example...)
The digital staking landscape is constantly evolving, and as technology advances, so does our need for reliable and efficient web tools to make informative decisions. In this fast-paced world, it becomes essential to have a comprehensive understanding of how validators are performing, particularly in terms of their governance voting and reliability.
Thankfully, there are innovative platforms like the Observatory Zone that offer valuable insights into the validators data, empowering stakers to optimize their decisions on who they want to nominate as a validator. In this presentation, I will explore the features and benefits of the Observatory Zone's Persistence Nodes, shedding light on how this powerful tool can enhance your decision on which validator to choose in today's dynamic online environment.
This valuable tool can be used for Persistence, or any chain in the Cosmos ecosystem and can be accessed via this link. This will show you all the live statistics of whatever chain you select on the Cosmos ecosystem. Let's take the Persistence chain for example.(Not biased at all 😂)
On the top right, you can select the timeframe you would like to analyze. Once you select it will automatically update the page analysis to that specific timeframe.
The top center frame is about everything relating to Governance, what validators are participating etc.. When you click on the expand button it will go into detail on each individual validator. This is important as it shows which are actively participating in the governance of Persistence Core-1 voting of proposals and amendments.
The second frame down is has all the details about voting power, which is important, as you hover your mouse over the green bars it will tell you how many of the blocks were signed by each validator. You want to choose one with a 99.99% rate or above.
The third frame will show you each validators revenue and commission rates, you want to select a commission rate of 5% or below in my opinion to reap the most staking rewards. There are a few that I would stake with, I am currently staking with Cros-Nest myself.
The fourth frame displays the public RPC node infrastucture reliability:
The fifth will show just how decentralized the network is. For instance Gpool is the lazy persons way to stake, by staking with Gpool it is actually making the network more centralized by giving them a higher voting power in the network, another reason I chose Cros-Nest instead.
The sixth and last frame shows the latest news on proposals and governance:
And lastely we have the main menu on the left which has the total percentage of XPRT staking on the network, which is currently 86%. Remember there is a 21 day un-bonding period, so the higher this number is the better as it tells us two things. First off it tells us investors are locking in their XPRT tokens for the longer term, and secondly it tells us that the network is extremely secure at the moment. The menu also has quicklinks to your dashboard, newsfeed, governance, validators, countries validators are in, the internet service providers they are using and autonomous restaking systems in place.
If you click on the last menu option "RAW NODES", it will display the below INTERACTIVE map showing the location of all the active nodes worldwide.
The Observatory Zone's data provides an invaluable resource for Cosmos stakers, enabling them to monitor and analyze the performance of their chosen validators. By leveraging the comprehensive data and insights offered by this platform, stakers can identify areas of improvement, enhance their staking experiences, and ultimately bolster their success. With the ever-increasing demands on validators, the Observatory Zone's data serves as a vital tool in adapting to the ever-changing Cosmos landscape, helping stakers maintain a competitive edge and deliver exceptional staking experiences to all Cosmonauts alike.
I do hope this helps some of you make the correct decisions when choosing a validator, to hopefully help ALL chains especially Persistence (again not biased 🤣), to become and stay more decentralized and secure for the years ahead.
Best of Luck To You All, May July Bring On The Bull Market -- The Dinarian
