Stripe Has Launched Stablecoin Accounts In Over 100 Countries 👀
Stripe has launched stablecoin financial accounts, a major move that enables businesses in over 100 countries to manage USD-denominated balances using stablecoins. These accounts allow users to receive, store, and send stablecoins (USDC and USDB) via both traditional bank transfers (ACH, SEPA, wire) and crypto rails-all within the Stripe dashboard.
Key features include:
🔹️ USD-denominated balances and money management
🔹️ Accessibility for businesses in 100+ new countries, especially those underserved by traditional banking
🔹️ Interoperability with both fiat and crypto payment systems
This innovation is especially impactful for startups and businesses in countries like Nigeria, Peru, or Sri Lanka, where capital controls, banking limits, and legacy financial infrastructure often present barriers. With Stripe’s new accounts, businesses can:
🔹️ Accept and store value in USD (via stablecoins)
🔹️ Pay contractors and move money internationally
🔹️ Seamlessly transfer funds across platforms
Stripe’s solution uses USDC (from Circle) and USDB (Stripe’s own closed-loop stablecoin, backed 1:1 by USD and BlackRock funds), with infrastructure powered by Bridge, a stablecoin platform Stripe acquired in 2025.
While these are stablecoin-only balances for now (not native USD), users get 1:1 dollar parity through crypto-native rails. This marks a quiet but significant rebuilding of the global financial stack, making cross-border payments and dollar access more inclusive and efficient-powered by stablecoins.
